Expats With Multiple Investments
Overview
The Murphy’s have been residing offshore for 9 years. They save monthly into multiple regular savings with Quilters, RL360 and Zurich. They have a lump sum Reserve bond through Friends Provident, a property in Abu Dhabi and Malaysia, and 3 in Ireland where they plan to retire. They are concerned their savings policies have not performed and as a result, will underachieve their retirement goals.
The Murphy’s Objectives

Our Process With The Murphy’s
Alternative Solutions
By understanding their current and potential future cash positions, along with their risk appetite, Hades Alternative Solutions (HAS) was clearly able to identify alternative solutions from regulated institutions with proven track records across the UK and Europe.
These ranged from venture capital, fixed income and private equity opportunities.
They had a full and thorough explanation of the institutions and funding opportunities, learnt how they work, along with our in-house due diligence
They learnt how the solutions were aligned with their goal to diversify some of their portfolio away from equity markets
They were informed how they will run independently from their portfolio with Hades Capital Management (HCM). However, will be managed under one company, HCM.
The Murphy’s benefitted from a bespoke service agreement that was created specifically for them

Understanding ETFs
Since their introduction in 1993, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have exploded in popularity with investors looking for an alternative to mutual funds. Used by institutions and individuals, ETFs are designed to track the performance of specified indices. They have low management fees and higher intraday price visibility.
-
Typically ETFs are 1/10th the cost of active mutual funds. ETFs from the largest and most prominent providers cost around 0.03% per annum.
-
ETFs have in excess of $4tr invested. This makes them highly liquid, so investors can access their money almost instantly.
-
Our discretionary portfolios are currated from a basket of ETFs from renowned institutions. They have seen annualised performance of +15.11%*.
*The performance quoted represents past performance and does not guarantee future results. Investment return and principal value of an investment will fluctuate so that an investor’s shares, when sold or redeemed, may be worth more or less than the original cost. Current performance may be lower or higher than the performance quoted.
